With 33 local branches, Boise Cascade meets their customers’ needs for quality building and lumber materials with their unique combination of personal service and quick response time.
Servicing a diverse client base for years, Boise Cascade has been able to drive in huge amount of online traffic on a daily basis to help cement their name further on a national scale. However, with 33 distribution centers, it was important to find a way to combine and display each center’s inventory into one online portal. There was also the growing need to adapt to the developing trend of mobile e-commerce systems.
Boise Cascade’s new mobile website is one of the first fully responsive e-commerce systems developed by Builderwire. Scalability in content can be seen not just when viewing the website on a phone or tablet but also when scaling a desktop web browser. This ability to respond to any display resolution ensures that all content will appear precisely as they were designed to be.
Additional enhancements were also added to the new e-commerce website. Status of orders and their exact shipping date could now be retrieved on the fly using Boise Cascade’s new Get Status feature which is integrated into the website’s Track Orders page.
A new Price Breaks feature was added to break down the pricing of a particular item by quantity. Displayed on a product’s detail page, the feature informs customers of the exact quantity they can order for that particular product. Each break is given a special price depending on the volume of orders. This also allows Boise Cascade customers who purchase by bulk to get better pricing for their orders.
Finally, a pop-up shopping cart was also integrated to eliminate the hassle of being routed to the shopping cart page every time an item is added to the cart.
